Equity and Bonds Returns: The End of a Golden Era? Despite numerous periods of global financial excesses, and subsequent corrections, over the past 30 years, the returns on equities and bonds in the US and Europe have been considerably above their long-term averages. The outperformance has been most pronounced in long-dated government bonds. The average annual real return on these instruments between 1985 and 2014 was +5.0% in the US and +5.9% in Europe, compared to long-run returns of +1.7% and +1.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, the outperformance of equities between 1985 and 2014 was more modest. The average annual real return on US equities was +7.9%, compared to a long-run average of +6.5%, while these respective measures in Europe were +7.9% and +4.9%. Two major related factors can predominantly explain this golden period for both bonds and equities, namely the taming of inflation and the subsequent decline in interest rates to historic lows. Both inflation and interest rates are important inputs into valuation models for long dura tion assets, thereby implying that their respective influences on returns over the past 30 years have, therefore, been largely felt through changing valuations. Equity returns are, however, explained by other factors, including economic and corporate fundamentals, of varying complexity. Liberal Feminism and Radical Feminism The goal of feminism as both a social movement and political movement is to make women and men equal not only culturally, but socially and legally. Even though there are various types of feminism that focus on different goals and issues, the ultimate end to feminism is abolishing gender inequality that has negative effects on women in our society. The issues and goals that a feminist may have are dependent on the social organization or the type of economic structure that is present. However, an ultimate end (a goal, achievement and/or accomplishment) would have to be social equality between men and women. It is no secret consumers enjoy shopping online, especially on websites such as Amazon, Ebay, and Overstock.com, where no sales tax is collected. As obeying, tax-paying citizens, all consumers are required to report on their income tax return the total amount spent on tax-free purchases, but reality reveals that very few consumers actually do. All an individual has to do is go to their state’s government website and download the tax form to keep track of their tax-free online purchases. For instance, the Louisiana governmental website allows individuals to download the R-1035 form to report their purchases every month. Alternatively, the consumer could report all of the purchases multiplied by an 8% tax rate (Louisiana Department of†¦show more content†¦There is also confusion regarding what is Constitutionally acceptable in the online marketplace. Many consumers and businesses believed that taxing products over the Internet was not allowed. . This misconception was c leared up in infamous Quill Corp. v. North Dakota case, which created the â€Å"nexus† law. This case has greatly effected the taxation of Internet sales. It stated that there must be a large physical presence of a company in a state for that state to lawfully require the company to collect taxes inside the state (Andes Atkinson, 2013). With the growth of the Internet, many of these misconceptions are attempting to be understood through various forms of legislation. In 2013, Congress introduced the Marketplace Fairness Act. It provides state governments the authority to tax out-of-state sellers without premise of having â€Å"physical presence† in the state, which is what the Quill case required. Therefore, neither in-state sellers nor out-of-state sellers will not have an advantage over another because of the tax code. This ruling is based on economic nexus. It would no longer be required that a seller have physical presence. As long as a transaction is made between a buyer and a seller that live in two different states, and the buyer is from a taxing state (only five states do not require sales tax), then both are required to have a sales tax transaction and report it on the income tax. Advantages: This approach offers an easy procedure for configuration. There is high scalability in the nature of this approach. The availability is high It has the lowest expense. Disadvantages: This is the most costly approach. It is the responsibility of the customer to manage the VM. The backup procedure is also carried by the customer. The customers have no control the virtual machine. Disadvantages: Migration complexity is low. The workload during migration is also low. The platform can be shared. Application modification is necessary to make it compatible with PaaS (Garrison, Kim Wakefield, 2012). The reason behind this is that the company will get storage as well as application development facility. This approach will be very easy for configuration and it has the lowest cost. There will be less time consumption for Webbs Stores to carry this approach and it will not affect its productivity. Conclusion It can be concluded from this report that there are several approaches for moving database to cloud. The most suitable approach for Webbs Stores is PaaS.
